In a Quest List Form you can save a form without filling out all required fields. For example, If you create a new contact, default values in the required field are being perceived as filled out. In addition, if a required field is left blank, the form still allows the user to save without entering the data.
Unable to open Adobe Files from Quest List View Webpart
Some of the client machines are not able to open the PDF files with Adobe reader from the Quest List View Webpart.
Warning message when using “View in Excel” in Development Studio for SharePoint
Error message when trying to use the “View in Excel” view from the Quest List view:-
“The file you are trying to open, ‘<file name>’, is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Verify that the file is not corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file. Do you want to open the file now?”
Selection choices “YES” and “NO”
Clicking on “Yes” still opens the file.
How to Remove the Forms Based Authentication Users Ability to Close the Quest Web Parts
The user accounts were using Forms based Authentication.
Users are not given rights to edit or close the Quest webpart.
Forms Based Authentication users not having the above permissions still get the menu to “Close”, “Modify Shared Webpart” on the drop down menu of the Quest webpart.
The SharePoint administrators want to remove this option.
Forms based authentication users unable to open the “Open with Windows Explorer”
When a user having Forms based authentication logs on a SharePoint site with a Quest list view webpart and tries to select Actions and select the “Open with Windows Explorer” action gets the following error message (see screenshot):-
“<path> is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.
The network path was not found.”
Select “Ok”
INTERNAL – Quest Selector – child itmes are not being filtered
Using the Quest Selector, items within a list as part of a site should be filtered. This is achieved for the parent list, but child list items are not filtered.
Unable to populate the fields of Quest Selector webpart
The field selected form the Quest Selector webpart would not populate some of the columns when creating a new item from the Quest list view webpart using the Quest List form webpart using the NewForm.aspx.
Wrong versioning showing up when Uploading multiple documents
When uploading multiple documents to a version enabled document library from the Quest List form webpart only one document shows the correct version which is version 1.0 and the rest show as version 2.0 with two versions of the document even though there are no versions of the documents.
The expected behaviour should be that all the documents should show one version for documents not having any versions.
