Operation prohibited because it exceeds the list view threshold
ListView web part displays error: “The attempted operation is prohibited because it exceeds the list view threshold enforced by the administrator.” ListView web part aggregates data from one SharePoint List. The SharePoint list has more than 5,000 items. The list view threshold is configured to 5,000 items. However, the ListView web part is configure with a CAML filter to limit the number of items returned. The largest number of items returned would be 1,484 items. According to the ListView web part documentation, the CAML filter filters the data on the SQL Server before it leaves SQL. In Knowledge Base Article 85313, the CAML filter filtered data after all items are retrieved. This behavior was to be changed in QWP 5.7. The ListView web part CAML filter does not appear to be functioning properly.
